Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 well arranged goblets, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
