Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and arranged cushions 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
