Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
