Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
