Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Dawn 1 by the Ten (secret) Nights, 2 by the even and the odd, 3 Consider the night as it runs its course! 4 Is there in that an oath for a mindful man? 5 Have you not seen what your Lord did to the 'Ad 6 Of the (city of) Iram, with lofty pillars, 7 The likes of whom had never been created in the land? 8 And (with) Thamud (people), who cut (hewed) out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)? 9 And (with) Firon, the lord of hosts, 10 led rebellious lives, 11 And heaped therein mischief (on mischief). 12 Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: 13 indeed, your Lord is ever watchful. 14 As for man, when his Lord tests him, through honour and blessings, he says, "My Lord has honoured me," 15 But when He tests him by straitening his sustenance, he says: “My Lord has humiliated me.” 16 Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)! 17 Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!- 18 and greedily devour the entire inheritance, 19 And you love wealth with exceeding love. 20 Nay, but when the earth is ground to atoms, grinding, grinding, 21 and (when you find yourself) in the presence of your Lord and the rows and rows of angels, your greed for riches will certainly be of no avail to you. 22 And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? 23 He will say: would that I had sent before for this life of mine! 24 Upon that day none shall chastise as He chastises, 25 and none can bind with bonds like His! 26 [To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul, 27 Return unto thy Lord, content in His good pleasure! 28 "Enter then among My votaries, 29 Enter thou My Paradise!' 30
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
