Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dawn 1 And ten nights, 2 And by the even and the odd (of all the creations of Allah). 3 And [by] the night when it passes, 4 Is there not an evidence in this for those who have sense? 5 ART THOU NOT aware of how thy Sustainer has dealt with [the tribe of] 'Ad, 6 (And) the tall giants of Iram? 7 The like of whom were never created in the realm; 8 And with Thamud who carved rocks in the valley; 9 And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? - 10 who all were insolent in the land 11 and brought about great corruption therein: 12 Therefore thy Lord poured on them the disaster of His punishment. 13 Indeed, your Lord is in observation. 14 As for man, when his Lord tests him by exalting him and bestowing His bounties upon him, he says: “My Lord has exalted me.” 15 but when He tests him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Lord has disgraced me." 16 Not at all but rather you do not honour the orphan. 17 And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor. 18 and greedily devour the entire inheritance, 19 And ye love wealth with inordinate love! 20 Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, 21 and [the majesty of] thy Sustainer stands revealed, as well as [the true nature of] the angels; rank upon rank? 22 And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him? 23 He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!" 24 Then on that Day Allah will chastise as none other can chastise; 25 And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind. 26 O satisfied soul, 27 "Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him! 28 enter, then, together with My [other true] servants 29 Enter thou My Garden! 30
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
