Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the (particular) dawn. 1 By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah). 2 By the even and odd (contrasted); 3 Consider the night as it runs its course! 4 Is there not an evidence in this for those who have sense? 5 Have you not seen what your Lord did to the 'Ad 6 the people of Iram, the city of many pillars, 7 The like of whom were never created in the realm; 8 And (with) Thamud (people), who cut (hewed) out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)? 9 and with Pharaoh of the stakes? 10 Who (all) were rebellious (to Allah) in these lands, 11 And increased therein the corruption. 12 Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: 13 Verily thy Lord is in an ambuscade, 14 As for man, whenever his Lord tries him and then is gracious and provides good things for him, he says: "My Lord has been gracious to me." 15 But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me." 16 Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphan 17 nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, 18 and you devour the inheritance greedily, 19 And love wealth with all your heart. 20 No indeed! When the earth is crushed and ground to dust, 21 And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, 22 And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him? 23 He shall say: O! would that I had sent before for (this) my life! 24 None can punish as He will punish on that day, 25 and Allah will bind as none other can bind. 26 O soul that art at rest! 27 return unto thy Lord, well-pleased, well-pleasing! 28 enter, then, together with My [other true] servants 29 And come into My Paradise! 30
True are the words of God the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
