Al-Balad
The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness this City;- 1 in which you are now living 2 And the begetter and that which he begat, 3 indeed, We created man in trouble. 4 What, does he think none has power over him, 5 He will say: 'I have destroyed a vast wealth' 6 Does he think that none has observed him? 7 Have We not made for him two eyes? 8 and a tongue, and a pair of lips, 9 and guided him on the two paths (of good and evil)? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 How will you comprehend what the Steep ascent is? -- 12 It is freeing the neck, 13 Or the giving of food in a day of hunger 14 To an orphan near of kin. 15 or a needy man in misery; 16 Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion. 17 Those are the Companions of the Right Hand. 18 But those who deny Our revelations are the people of the left hand: 19 On them is fire closed over. 20
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
