The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 by the day when it brightens the earth, 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 and by the sky and by Him Who made it; 5 And [by] the earth and He who spread it 6 And by Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul, etc.), and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 7 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- 8 To a happy state shall indeed attain he who causes this [self] to grow in purity, 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 when that most hapless wretch from among them rushed forward [to commit his evil deed,] 12 Then the messenger of God said to them, "This is God's she-camel. Let her drink." 13 But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground). 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
