Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the sun and its light 1 And by oath of the moon when it follows the sun 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 By the heaven and Who built it, 5 The earth and its spreading out, 6 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; 7 And inspired in it the knowledge of its sins and its piety. 8 To a happy state shall indeed attain he who causes this [self] to grow in purity, 9 And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. 10 Thamood belied in their pride 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 And He does not fear its coming behind (to take vengeance). 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
