The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 He verily will be content. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
