The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
