The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
