Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And rejects the best, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
