The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day in splendour 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
