The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
