The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
