The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
