The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And accepts the best, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
