The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 But save him who fears 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
