The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 And the day resplendent 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But save him who fears 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
