The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
