The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
