Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night, when it envelops, 1 and the day in splendour 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 But save him who fears 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
