The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
