Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
