Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it). 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
