Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11
