Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the morning brightness, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you, 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
