The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11
