The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and by the calm of night, 2 (Muhammad), your Lord has not abandoned you (by not sending you His revelation), nor is He displeased with you. 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 and proclaim the bounty of your Lord. 11
