The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
