Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the midday brightness 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
