The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
