The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
