The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or orders piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will now call the guards! 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
