The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
