The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 What is your opinion regarding him who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
