The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
