The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
