The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
