The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
