In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
