The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
