The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
