The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
