The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
