In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
