The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
