The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the racers, panting, 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 Then those charging in the morning 3 And therein raising dust. 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 And that which is in the breasts (of men) shall be made known. 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
